how does the neutrogena stress control acne treatment work?
because, if stress causes you acne, you are still going to stress, but how is neurtogena going to prevent the acne? i don’t understand…
They are saying that the acne causes you stress, which then causes more acne. By reducing your acne they are saying they will take away some of your stress, which will in turn reduce acne.
The active ingredient is 2% salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is an exfoliant and can actually penetrate the sebum your skin produces to exfoliate inside the pores. However it can only do this if it is in an acid base with a pH of between 3 and 4. Many salicylic acid products are not formulated with an acid base and this renders the salicylic acid defunct for the purpose it was included in the product. Neutrogena do not give the pH of Stress Control.
Also, salicylic acid can take months to reach maximum effectiveness and is very mild compared to things like Tazorac, which would do a better job of unplugging blockages in much less time.
