What are the effects of excess adrenaline due to an anxiety disorder on the body?
I have an anxiety disorder.I believe it is GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) stemming from the initial panic disorder. I am anxious near constantly, but sometimes more than others, especially when I have a full-fledged panic attack. However, my anxiety typically is a result of the physical symptoms I have, worrying that I might have a brain tumor or something. I know that if you are stressed out/anxious, your body is releasing adrenaline, and since I am this way all the time, it is continous. I was wondering what effects excess adrenaline had on the body…? Thanks!!!
I can tell you from experience: being tired, weak, lethargic most of the time. After time, it also does heart damage, which I have as well, to the valves. Just make sure you seek professional help to manage it. And whatever you do — DON’T go surfing the internet for answers or doing all medical research yourself — believe me that just makes us MORE scared and anxious. What we need is regular exercise to burn off the extra adrenaline pumping, and relaxing exercises, like yoga, meditation, etc. Don’t watch anything over-exciting or upsetting, don’t drink high caffeine — use common sense on those things.
