What are some physical effects of emotions?
I don’t mean when you smile your happy or when you cry you are depressed or sad.
I need more depth and detail. When we cry does our body go through any specific changes ? When we are angry how does it effect our nervous system and does it give any health risks?
For example when we laugh our body reduces hypertension, decreases stress hormones and we see an increase in antibodies.
Any helpful links would great !
Thoughts trigger emotions that trigger chemicals and neuron firing. Many emotions have the same physical sensations, however, are perceived to be different based on the circumstances just prior. That is where "irrational" comes into play.

There’s all KINDS of stuff your body goes through when you experience different emotions. A lot of it is brain activity, but you can also include changes to heart rate/blood pressure, sweating, relaxing or contracting of muscles, and so on. Prolonged stress, in particular, can do some bad stuff. It’ll mess with your eating habits, skin complexion, hair, or sex drive.

I can tell you that the chemical make-up of tears that we cry in sadness is different from those our bodies use to lubricate our eyes and flush out eye pollutants. Laughter and happiness release endorphins in the brain that make us feel good. I assume that sadness suppresses the release of endorphins.
