Is it normal to have stress effect my body this badly?

I’ve been very stressed out lately, and whenever something new happens to stress me out more, I get sick to my stomach. For example, my boyfriend had a panic attack, which stressed me out so much, I started vomiting. I’ve been so stressed that my period came early, and was quite short.

Is it normal for stress to effect my body so badly?

Yes. It is. But it is not normal to become so distressed so easily. It will make you pay the toll later in life if you do not learn to relax, but it can do even worse than what you are experiencing now. If it manifests in your vomiting, ulcers will probably be the next step in degradation and eventually intestinal as well. If it gives you elevated blood pressure, it leads later to strokes and heart attacks…

You need to learn to breath and relax better. Start considering a sport, maybe yoga, maybe even a craft to relieve stress. Meditation and breathing practices are the most effective for dealing with stress though.
