Does stress have any ill effects on your body? If not, should I be worried about what I’ve been feeling?

My stomach feels uncomfortable lately, and I feel a general tiredness and slight nausea despite having slept a good one last night. Also, I’ve had a weird temperature increase that goes on and off, and I’ve had several bowel movements within the last two days or so, atypical for my routine. I’m wondering if thisis just an effect of stress (having gone through two weeks straight of high stress) or if it’s some disease I should worry about?

Stress is a killer.
I have graves disease, it is hyperthyroidism, sounds alot like what you are describing, and is caused by stress, though stress longer than 2 weeks I would imagine.

It could be just stress, but if it continues go to your doctor. you can also call and talk to your doctor’s nurse during office hours and see what they say.

Yes this could be a distress call from your body, or you could be pregnant, but it sounds like stress. Either way if it does not change back to normal within the next couple of days I would recommend seeing your doctor to be sure.

It is possible that stress is the cause for all the symptoms you are feeling, but because of the symptoms you are feeling it is really hard to say what is wrong, without having a physical examination done. You will probably also need to go get some blood work done.
I wouldn’t think that it is anything serious and I don’t think you need to overly worry, but again, it’s too hard to say what it is based on those symptoms.
Stress does effect the body in many ways and does cause the symptoms you described. to be sure, see your doctor

If you’re not feel that flash, try chilling out/unplugging for a while.

If you’re still feeling down, see a doctor, it could be something more.

Stress does cause the stomach to create more acid which might be responsible for your queeziness. It can also be the cause of hot flashes and loose stools. If you are really worried, nothing will release the extra stress of thinking you might be sick than a visit to your physician. If the stress is to last, he might suggest something to help you deal with all that tension.

stress can DEFINITELY affect your health, and in much of the way you have described. it’s probably due to stress, but it’s still something to worry about. you should do anything you can to help your stress - get more sleep, take more time to relax, etc. I wish you luck.

Stress can do insane things to your body. I have made a trip to the emergency room thinking I was having a stroke. The diagnosis after an EKG and catscan was "migrating numbness of unknown origin" most likely cause… high stress. I’m not saying not to have it checked out if it persists and you are worried. YES stress can cause some crazy things. Your body is trying to talk to you.

Sleep is easily affected by stress.

The bowels are sensitive to stress.

That said, there is no clear reason for fevers. Cortisol is a stress hormone and an immunosuppressant. It’s possible that stress made you susceptible to something else. See a doctor, and look into relaxation techniques.

    Good luck.
